About Me

Madison Underwood 

My name is Madison Underwood, and I am an apparel, merchandising, and design student at Iowa State University with a focus on creative and technical design. My end goal is to be a fashion designer. It has been an aspiration of mine since I was seven years old. I am very committed, as I have been working towards my goal for thirteen years. I am dedicated and work hard. I always push myself to be the best I can be and am always open to learning anything to help me progress. I started out mainly as a self-taught sewer. Throughout my 3 years at Iowa State University, I have been learning how to fine-tune my sketches with watercolor and drawing textures on my designs. Learning to use helpful software tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop for tech sketches, making patterns/motifs, graphic design, and more. I have dabbled in using AI in these tools, making me excited for my creative future. Here at Iowa State, I have also been fine-tuning my patternmaking and draping skills. Overall, I have a huge passion for fashion. It excites me, pushes me, and makes me so happy that I have found fashion.
